I'm considering buying a used Schott leather biker jacket from ebay, and was wondering about their sizing. I have tried on the 618 (R, size 40) in a store an like how this one fits. The barcode number and a little additional information about the jacket can determine the year of production. I don't think it would be wise to up-size the Schott. Got a bid on ebay 10-29-20,, so these are gone. Gail
I am 6'2 / 180lbs and the size 40 perfecto fits perfectly! Even slightly larger then the fit my old 42 (not Schott but same type of MC leather jacket).
If you are not a rider then a "regular" length and not a "long" size may or may not be able to work for you if you are over 6". If anyone can help inform me of any potential differences in the fit between a new 618 and this 118 I would be most grateful. Gail

I tried on the prefecto 618 in 42 and it was too big.

I thought to get him a leather jacket as a gift, and lots of people here recommended the Schott Perfecto. I don't think a tight cafe jacket will suit all body types, for casual wear. My current MC leather jacket (of the exact same style, albiet not a Schott) is a 42 and fits on the smaller side for me, my suit size is 42 also, so I was suprised that the 40 fit the best (38 was too small, 42 to too big). FUNFACT:

It seems you have tried on a new 618 which has recently been updated in fit, you can email Jerri in customer service and she can send you the current specs for the 618. Trying to figure out what my size would be if I were to buy a used jacket. If I had order one size up from my normal size, the 44 would have been like a tent on me. Your first post with the pocket ticket information confirmed the jacket was a style 118 which was a larger cut then the 618, this why ordering up was advised. You'd probably want to try a 44 or even a 42 depending on the model. I have not been able to find anywhere that sells Schott new, so I've never tried them on, but from what I hear you buy your size. Hands down the best jacket i've ever owned, both in terms of aesthic, construction and quality. You can then compare the measurements to the 118 that you want to purchase. Snug is where it can just be zipped up over what you'd want to wear under it, when new. It will stretch and conform and become more comfortable and looser. Sent an email to Jerri. Unfortunately I can not tell you the exact years we have updated fit and patterns, I can confirm oldee jackets were a smaller cut in the older jackets. I've found that it's pretty accurate, so use that if you haven't already. For real riding use, the jacket must fit snugly because loose material is dangerous. Apologies for all the questions, just having a difficult time with all these modifications and changes in sizes through the years. We will only use it to contact you to confirm your post.
