As far as a writing utensil goes, it's, in my opinion, quite to difficult to knock off the rapid pro/600/800 off its podium. DraftMatic vs Rotring 500, 600, 800 etc. I have read that the writing experience is better with the 600 due to the fixed tip and that the retractable tip makes the 800 feel kind of blah. The grip is knurled, not rubberized. The big question is not whether the Rotring 800 is worth the money - $65 is more than a fair price for this pencil - it’s whether the Rotring 800 justifies a $33 premium over the Rotring 600.

I'm consider the above mentioned 3 rotring ballpoint pens and I was wondering if anyone could point me to some info or reviews of them. So now I dont know what to do.

The retractable tip is soo satisfying. The Lamy is a great platform, but I love my 800 so much. I do a lot of writing and I enjoy the G2. I might also just pick up a rOtring 600 down the line to see what I think later. You can even get a red one to match the red ring. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. A subreddit dedicated to pens! Being a full brass body, the Rotring will be considerably heavier (in a good way, in my opinion). I don't want a pencil that I'm going to have a lot of problems with. I've been using my Lamy 2000 for just under 2 months now after switching from a rotring rapid pro (for all intensive purposes, the pencil is similar enough to the 600 for me to give me two cents at the subject). The same thing applies to the 800 and the 800+. Close.

The Pentel Graphgear 1000's grip also isn't as knurled as the rOtring 600's. Don't carry a 600 in your pocket, use a nice case. The Rotring 800 fits my hand better than the more slender 600.
