A good Berserker with good positioning and timing in a group, if allowed to group enemies up, can lock them down in huge packs and allow everyone else free safe shots on stun locked or downed enemies and make it a lot safer for everyone. You definitely have to pick your spots though. Play dangerously now! If your positioning is good and you pay attention you can definitely finish combos on most bosses and stay engaged all the time. I don't have to dodge EVERY move so stamina and wasted time aren't an issue. Just that it isn't complete garbage...it has it's benefits for solo play but the disadvantages in group play are significant. A couple quick dodges and once a Zerker is close or on top of you and hits that stun lock....youre done. Fact is that not a single boss in game will let you finish complete combo and the time you spend dodging and waiting to leap back in ranged classes spend finishing their combos and doing massive dmg and saddest thing is they would out dmg you even without finishing combos cause their skills flat out do a lot more dmg and also have range. Curious as to what you mean Mages and Rangers can't lock on? And on top of that zerk is ONLY class that brings no grp utility so why would anyone bring you over any other class? Everything you said sounds nice for a single player game but that wont do in MMO. The berserker’s ability to inflict serious damage to multiple enemies at once is useful in a variety of ways. The crowd controll is amazing but relies on you being able to kite them into a mob and then attack multiple targets simultaneously.

Sure if I can get my combo off its great, but when running with a group I either have the bosses aggro, in which case I get 1 or two swipes before needing to dodge a frontal cleave, or I'm chasing a boss that is stalking a ranged player.

I do feel like now i It could really benefit from some kind of contributing skill such as a war cry that boosts either ally defenses or attack/cast/move speed. I feel the only real problem i see as a spectator that is, is that the combat system doesn't fit the mmo aspect of the game.
Like many people have said the combat is really reminiscent of dark souls rather than a typical mmo. But you get your lionheart blessing maxed giving plus 10 stamina and you have 2 dodges now. Pvp, pve, dmg, sustain, defense down? It just takes a little more skill and awareness to play efficiently....now pick it apart and tell me how and where I'm wrong lol/s. They aren't meant for utility they're meant for damage and a little crowd controll and they do it pretty well. The ultimate question! I commented elsewhere to clarify but I'll say it again here. In most cases if positioned right combos aren't an issue but against tougher bosses it does limit you and come into play no matter how good you are. are removed as you roll to the front to avoid attacks.
Another idea that's been bounced around would be to give them immunity to stun or knock back to help finish longer combos. The longer the berserker holds the attack, the farther the berserker will charge. Knowing where a boss is going to start and finish his animation is key to stayin engaged in the fight to maximize dps.
