I think you can NUKE the nest in the microwave for about a minute and that will kill any ants that are in the nest but you'll also need to be sure you've gotten rid of any left inside the nestbox and figured out a way to stop them from getting back in. Janie, where do I buy axle grease? Since the birds don't perch on the pole the grease won't come into contact with them.
